Having arrived earlier in the day on its first visit to MAN United Arab Emirates Air Force A330MRTT 1300 was parked up for the night before continuing its journey the next day.
It was still parked at T1, 12 noon Monday 2nd May. Our Transat flight from Calgary berthed next to it. 2 uniformed men with day-glo vests were supervising re-fuelling.
Hi Nik. I'm not making it up, it must have returned. One noticeable thing....the UAE decals and reg 1300 were still on the aircraft but "united arab emirates airforce" which was in your photo at the front of the airframe had gone. Hence my interest and research when I got home.
I know you are not making it up .... what I said was it wasn't "still there" (your words) from the time I took my photo, it had been away and had returned again yesterday morning! I am pretty sure the titles were still on the a/c though, they are very feint and can barely be seen from certain angles or light conditions.

ReplyDeleteIt wasn't "still parked there on the 2nd May" ... it returned that morning on it's transit flight back home.

I take it you are referring to "Monday 2nd JUNE" rather than May ??
ReplyDeleteYesterday Nik..........I'm still a little "jet-lagged"
DeleteTravelled from Banff in the Rockies, 24 hours to get home in all.
