11th September 2021 - East Fortune Museum

The weekend of the 10th to the 12th September 2021 saw my Wife and I up in Edinburgh (a nice romantic break), on the Saturday afternoon we made the short drive over to the East Fortune Air Museum for a long awaited first visit!

My main reason for visiting here was the lovely looking Dan Air London Comet G-BDIX as I never saw any in commercial service. Nicely displayed outside and easily photographed without any other souls around to spoil the shot!

Ex British Airways BAC1-11 G-AVMO was nice to see again having grown up with these flying over my head as a kid!

Displayed inside was British Airways Concorde G-BOAA which is fully accessible, not easy to fit in the frame though sadly.

Ex British Airways Boeing 707 G-APFJ has sadly been reduced to just the forward fuselage after being cut up at Cosford many years back, it's now displayed in BOAC colours.

Ex Scottish Air Ambulance Britten Norman Islander G-HEBZ is displayed as G-BELF

De Havilland Dove G-ANOV is displayed in Civil Aviation Authority colours.

Scottish Aviation Twin Pioneer G-BBVF is displayed in its old Flight One colour scheme.

and finally, British Aerospace Jetstream J3100 demonstrator G-JSSD is preserved in the civil hangar.

A lovely couple of hours spent looking around here adding seven new frames to my log book and several nice photos. My thanks to my very patient (and long suffering) wife for tolerating the time!
